The SA Gin Festival is taking over Durban this coming Sunday the 15th of December at The Hay Store, an eclectic industrial setting in the heart of Durban’s redeveloped Point Waterfront.
Because we know just how much South African’s love gin, the partnership between the SA Gin Society and Schweppes, a Coca-Cola Brand, will present a wide variety of different locally distilled, award winning gins at KwaZulu-Natal’s most premium gin festival.
“It’s a great and unique experience for gin lovers to enjoy a diverse collection of some of the best gins South Africa has to offer, including a wide variety of locally distilled, award-winning gins,” says Kwanda Dlamini, National Channel Development Manager at Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa. “The iconic and striking warehouse space at The Hay Store, situated near the vibrant waterfront offers the perfect community space for enjoying great food, music and a range of fun activities.”
For only R180 per ticket*, guests will each receive a gin glass, three tasting tokens and two complimentary Schweppes mixers. This is a family friendly event so children under 18 who are accompanied by an adult, will be allowed to enter free of charge. No food or drinks will be allowed into the venue however there will be a large variety of food options, so be sure to bring along picnic baskets and camping chairs. Safe parking is available at Ushaka Marine World which is a five-minute walk from the venue.
Apart from the large variety of gin products on offer, the event will boast cocktail-making classes which will be free of charge for visitors attending the festival. Festivalgoers can book their spot when they arrive and will be catered for hourly on a first-come-first-served basis.
“As the biggest and best gin festival in the country, we are expecting a large turnout but mostly, we are looking forward to hosting guests to relax and enjoy sipping on our ice-cold gin cocktails in the summer sun,” concludes Dlamini.
